Policies and Procedures

Tutoring is available at the rates appearing below between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., seven days a week, subject to agreement between client & tutor, and subject to the tutor’s prior commitments.

Sessions are between one hour and one and a half hours, at the discretion of the tutor.

A regular schedule is highly recommended but not required. We suggest a minimum of two sessions per week.

Use of cell phones, iPods, and other distracting devices is not permitted during sessions.

Because there are so many variables, including especially the student’s commitment to the learning process, we do not guarantee specific results for our tutoring efforts. We promise only to do our best.

A reasonable amount of contact between sessions is included in the rates. Examples: Phone calls from students asking questions about assignments, and phone calls from parents asking for progress reports.

Parents are always invited to observe sessions, but we ask that they refrain from participation of any sort unless asked.

For your peace of mind and ours, security cameras monitor all sessions in The Think Tank
(that’s what we call our facility at 405 Venus Ct.).

When we tutor a minor in a client’s home, an adult family member must be on the premises.

Payment is due at the beginning of each session. Sorry, we do not accept credit cards or debit cards at this time.

If you need to cancel, notify us at least four hours before the scheduled starting time to avoid being charged for the session.

The tutor has the option of including a second or third non-family-member student in a session if all participants may benefit from a temporary small-group approach.

$35.00 per session.
For 100 sessions paid in advance: $2,500.00

In your home

$45.00 per session.
For 100 sessions paid in advance: $3,500.00

Customized Tutoring Packages

Everything we do is targeted to individual needs, but if you have extra-special requirements or an unusual request, we will be happy to quote a package rate. Examples: A family (parents and two children) get-away weekend with the tutor as travel companion, to a destination rich in educational possibilities and plenty of educational game-playing en route; OR (another example) because of his work schedule, an adult student wants sessions from midnight to 2 a.m. twice a week; OR (another example) a post-graduate student wants a doctoral thesis critiqued throughout
the writing process.
